‘Organiek Mechaniek’ —
Jakobe Geens & Josse de Broeck / deStudio
© Manon Verplancke
'Organiek Mechaniek' playfully demonstrates that what is mechanical can also become organic.
We have all experienced it: you have to do something that you don't really feel like doing. But then there is that little voice in your head that says: 'it has to be done'. People who write books about it call that voice your 'alter ego'. That is Latin and literally means 'your other self'. But you can also give that other self a new name. How about 'your own other'?
Do you also have two selves? Do you ever look in the mirror at the other person who is you? When you talk to yourself, do you sometimes laugh together? And can you still feel lonely with two selves?
'Organiek Mechaniek' is a show that combines sound, music and pure bicycle acrobatics in a playful, theatrical kinetic language. It is a performance that reinvents the (bicycle) wheel in a unique way and thus makes everything 'round' again.

‘Cracks in the Wood’ — Maria Madeira / Detail Company
© Manonama
The project Cracks in the Wood exists out of two parts – a performance and a concert.
In the performance Cracks in the Wood Maria Madeira creates a retrospective of her history in movement. She draws upon her the repertoire of her own body and what her body remembers. Key components are tapdance, ballet and acrobatics as she was schooled in all three. While looking at her moving portrait traces of musicality, violence and control reverberate.
In Cracks the Concert, Maria Madeira collaborates with Thijs Van Scharen around the pure musicality of tapdance in conversation with drums. As the title suggests it will be an experimental concert combining tap dancing, drumming, voice and percussion among other elements. This concert will be played/performed in duo by Maria and Thijs Van Scharen, and it will be played both in connection to Cracks in the Wood but as well in other contexts more connected to music.

‘KINTSUGI: living with a krak’ —
Compagny Krak
There’s a man.
There’s a door.
There’s hope.
The man waits. And waits. Together we wait.
He does his best to play away the emptiness, but it becomes more and more clear how this is all going to end…
Kintsugi is a play for all ages. It’s a story of absence, mourning and solace. A journey from hope to despair to sadness to anger to the realisation that losing someone never leaves you, and that that’s okay.
Grief: a subject that connects us all. Luckily the clownesque play in Kintsugi fills us with lightness and laughter in the face of that despair.
Kintsugi. A play about how to live with who we are.

‘BEYOND’ —Circumstances
BEYOND is a dynamic, exhilarating yet poetic circus and dance performance that explores, challenges and finally bridges boundaries. With ladders, varying in size and height, the players build impressive structures, such as arch sculptures and spinning cranes. They balance the ladders into an exciting, wobbly playing field.
In BEYOND, choreographer Piet Van Dycke works with six professional performers, each specialized in a different discipline (ladder walking, acrobatics, acrobatics, partner acrobatics and (pole) dance). On stage, they reveal themselves to be boundless bridge builders.

‘Babusio’ —
Bram De Laere
© Sarah Vanheuverzwijn
In 'Babusio', we witness the evolution of a clown Auguste and the exploration of his inner self.
Once he was a contrary servant, always ready to pull the wool over his master's eyes. But his master of yore is no more so he sets out into the wide world in search of a new master. Whether he really wants to find one is another question. But tooting his horns he does, nonetheless. Babusio is a poetic performance with clever circus techniques and an insight into the heritage of clowning.

‘Treeming’ — Anke Fiévez & Mille Lundt
© Michel Wathieu
Treeming, a new IN-SITU project by and with Anke Fiévez and Mille Lundt, aims to create an utter and urgent silence as a contrast to our fast-moving society today. As makers and performers, Anke Fiévez and Mille Lundt work at the intersection of performance and circus art. Both place their work in situ and in indoor spaces. Anke and Mille have lived and worked in Belgium for over twenty years,
Trees are central to Treeming. The tree is an ancient symbol of strength, power, wisdom, fertility and life. Scientists are still discovering new information about this living being. Treeming is also about the (mental) health of human beings and thus of the audience. It will be a performance that explores the richness of an outdoor location in all its dimensions - spatial, historical, social, poetic and acoustic. Through guidance, the audience will experience and witness the relationship between the physical body and physical matter.
